Therapy and Assessment Psychology Supports for Children, Teens and Young Adults

We specalise in psychological services for children to young adults, and use evidence-based treatments that build in neurodiversity affirming care and trauma-informed practices. We are also eligible to offer Medicare-rebates for those with a referral from their doctor/ GP.

Brisbane Psychologists draws from over 15 years experience in supporting children and young people, including those navigating life with disability, mental health challenges, complex childhood experiences & trauma, and neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, Autism, OCD).

Therapy & Counselling (In‑Person or Online)

A session typically occurs once a week or fortnight, and runs for 50 to 60 minutes. The treatment offered by the Psychologist will be tailored to you depending on your needs and goals. In clinic options are available on Mondays, and Telehealth/ Online/ Remote sessions on Tuesday & Wednesday. Psychological Assessment & Testing (In Clinic)

Psychoeducational and learning assessments of children to young adults is available to book from our Kangaroo Point office on Mondays. This includes assessment to explore suspected neurodiversity (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD], Autism Spectrum Disorder [ASD] including ADOS-2 assessment), Twice-Exceptional (2e) or giftedness, and concerns for learning (e.g., Specific Learning Disorder also referred to as Dyslexia). Board-Approved Supervision (In Person or Online)

Brisbane Psychologists also offers Psychology Board of Australia Approved supervision, including for provisional psychologists. Supervision can be booked as a one-off consultation or as regular appointments, and would suit those who are working within schools or non-for-profits including DFV, or those supporting clients with disability, neurodiversity, trauma or seeking guidance around psychoeducational assessments and reports.

How to Book Medicare-Rebated Psychology Sessions

We are eligible to offer the clinical psychology Medicare-rebate for those with a referral to psychology from their GP/ doctor (known as a Mental Health Treatment Plan).

Step 1 - Arrange a long-appointment with your GP/ doctor

Your doctor will complete the MHTP referral to facilitates up to 10 rebated therapy sessions each calendar year (Jan to Dec).

Step 2 - Contact us to book your first appointment

Welcome to reach out via phone, email or web, or use our online book calendar. We will then be in contact to book in your first appointment/s, and explain what you can expect across your treatment.

Step 3 - Send us a copy of your Referral

Please email or bring a copy of your referrl to your first appointment. You can use an existing plan if seeking to change where you access therapy.
